Clicking sound

Some time ago, I noticed a clicking sound in the lower driver's side dash
when I would unlock the differentials.  However, lately the clicking comes
and goes as it pleases, so it's time to figure it out and fix.

I'm assuming it's some type of relay, but this is my first quattro, so
someone out there with more experience maybe could enlighten me.
