A rear wing helps a car no matter if it's front, rear, or all wheel drive. True,
it helps grip in rear drive, but in front drive, it still stabilizes the back of
the car at high speeds so it doesn't float. The point of winds and aerodynamics
is to put down force on cars at higher speeds (which can start as low as like 60
mph on some cars). I've felt in on my GTI's in the 90-115 mph range quite a
bit. Putting a larger rear wing on dramatically helped keep the car panted on
the ground, thus allowing better steering.

IMHO
