The wiring to the intake temp sender is soldered on with silver solder.
I have seen some cases where the connection becomes intermittent and
requires re-soldering.  That *may* be what you're experiencing too.
Note that silver solder is not the same as ordinary lead/tin solder,
and requires a much higher temperature soldering iron.
