Here come the mice

Mothballs may deter them to some extent or you can roll the dice with
poison and hope they don't die somewhere where they would stink-up things.

I had a pick-up truck where they chewed through the firewall insulation
and built a nest over the glovebox.  They chewed the papers in the
glovebox and left their excrement too.  The best part was when I was
driving down the road and one appeared on the top of the dashboard - God
knows what would have happened if my wife had been driving.  I pulled over
to the side of the road and opened the passenger door and herded the
bugger in that direction.
