A-6 as a fad

With the old auto transmission, I'll agree. With the newer trans (98 on), that
engine has plenty of pep for the average family. I rode in a 99 model this week
and it would get up and scoot. It may not be a firebreather, but its no slouch
either - the coming 30 valve 3.0 with 220 horses will impress even more. With
previous Audis of chipped 5KCStq, 200q and 2 V8s, my butt speed judgement factor
is pretty good.
Those of us at Pikes Peak a couple of years back remember Osmun drove his mom's
2.8 100/A6 - and kept up quite well at extended runs of more than 110mph in 105
degree weather.
