Shipping rims...

If you can't find boxes out back of the groc store large enough to fit,
then find the biggest boxes you can and cut out two sides, one for side of
the rim. Make the cardboard larger than the diameter of the rim by about 2
inches all around. Tie the cardboard 'sides' to the rim with strapping
tape or twine, whatever, then loop strapping tape around the whole thing to
secure it. Get the picture? Its like putting a cover on each side, and if
the rim is laid down standing up, it won't be touching any metal, just
cardboard.

Time consuming, but protective enough. Some wheel sellers do something
similar when they ship out. They have the luxury of pre-cut heavy pieces.

Ship UPS.
