Put 2 together max.  If it gets any heavier/bulkier, they tend to be treated
more abusively.  The wheel boxes work just great, BTDT.

Get some wheel boxes of an appropriate size from a wheel/tire shop, add
at least another layer of cardboard to the inside, stuff them with
newspaper, put a label on the inside, tape 'em up, and ship 'em UPS. If
you can put 2 in a box, the freight is less, and even less for 4. Insure
them for what you think it would cost you to replace them. Good luck,
