Ben,
The new bulbs will not make too much difference, I switched to 80/100 and
noticed hardly any improvement!
Take care, and keep us updated.
Avi

Subject: RE: Eurolights - 100Q

Dave, I think your description accurately describes what is going on.

These are USED Eurolights installed in an '89 100Q. I would not have done
this on a car I intend to sell, except 1) I had a broken lens, and 2) the
price was right, even if they aren't perfect.

There is no wiring problem. The low beams just are downright poor. I find
my 5K Turbo stock lighting to be better for the low beam, but does not
compare to the 100Q Euro highbeams, which are outstanding.

I will obtain some new and more powerful bulbs which should make some
difference.

At least with the highbeams, the buyer should be able to see where he is
going.

Regards,

Ben

<Ben, Are these lights new or used? If used then faded reflectors may be
the
problem. But if new then I think that's ruled out.

I installed a set of used H4 Bosch euros that I got from a boneyard and
found the results the same as you describe. Their reflective coating is a
bit faded. I tried relays, checked all wiring connections, etc and it
didn't change. The lows are dim, the highs are great. Actually I think
the DOT spec lights for the NA cars are better than the H4's . One problem
I think permeates the list wisdom is the huge difference between what I see
in the NA H4 vs the turbo Euro H4/H1, which truly are awesome. I think
most people equate their performance with Euro's across the board, and I
don't think it applies to the H4 only lights.

If your lights are new then my theory is correct. If your lights are used
with faded reflectors....Dave C.>
