Tire Wheel Combo

What is the biggest tire wheel combo that I can fit on a stock bodied '86 
5KTQ? how wide can I go with out getting too personal with the tie rod? I 
want to fit a 17" rim with at least a 215/40 or 45/ZR17 and am willing to do 
some body work to make this combination work. TIA
