200 TQW wipers

its normal park position, to gradually moving across the windshield.

Dave,
it sounds like the motors attachment points are starting to wear.  When you 
remove the arm the splines between the motor and arw, like those on the 
steering wheel.  If not kept tight, they will wear and cause the symptoms 
you describe, just remove set where you want and retighten.
