Have you had your catalytic converters checked out??? That is a common
failure on the '93+ 90's.

I lost both of mine at 65k miles on my '95 90Q. You might want to at least
have them checked out. From what I could tell only one of them was rattling
but both were diagnosed as bad!!

I must have missed your initial post...what exactly is you acceleration
problem??? Is it hesitating or just not as fast as it used to be???

Good Luck!!

Hi guys,

Some questions and info for you.

In my search of solving my problem of acceleration under high (normal)
temperature engine operation (temperature indicator in the middle of the
gauge), I fund two problems.

1) Knock sensor wire isolator of the driver side was molten along 3 inch
with local wire exposure. The wire was in physical contact with the engine
head. I reed in the Bosch fuel injection book that the knock sensor wire is
isolated for thermal purpose ???. So, I repaired the isolation with rubber
tubing. Improvement relative to my acceleration problem ? I don't not yet (I
have don't that last evening). Should I expect some ? Anyway I noticed that
the acceleration problem is less intense when I run without the plastic
cover on the engine. Hence the problem appear to be related to high
temperature close to the engine ????

2) I fund fluid coating over a sensor. I don't know was is that sensor. It
is located close to the radiator in the passenger side of the car. The
sensor is green with two brown wires. Fluid looks to be coolant, but I am
not sure because of the dust and the sensor is not well exposed. Is it the
engine temperature sensor? If so, well, may be it is the cause of my
acceleration problem under high (normal) engine temperature ???

On the other hand, according to recent discussions in the list, I have
disconnected the battery during all the night in order to reset the ECU
because my O2 sensors were changed about 1 month ago without that procedure.
Well, I fund a real improvement of the drivability of the car and especially
its responsiveness. However, my acceleration problem, although not as
prominent as before is still there.

Regarding fuel filter, I am not ale to find one that fit. My fuel filter has
a diameter of about 3 inch. The one and the only one listed for the 90S Q
1993 (Bocsh, Wix, etc) is about 4 inch. There is not place to fit that
bigger one. My Car is a Canadian model, and an early build it was the 384th
according to the VIN. Any suggestion about that. He guys, What is the
diameter of your fuel filter on your 90Q 93-95 car ?

Also, I am not able to read the Dumping Diagnostic Trouble Codes. My check
engine light is burned. I have tried the LED procedure without any success.
Any tips about that.

To date, in order to solve that problem, I have replaced ignition wire set
and O2 sensors. Spark plug are the right one and are less than 1 year old.
Air filter: less than 1 year old.

Any comments

Thank guys for your help.
