I got the attached e-mail from a gentleman in Portugal. I did pass along my
thoughts, but since I'm not really familiar with the climate control on a
car like the one that Carlos owns I thought I would pass his request to the
list. If there are any people here who can offer advice, please be sure to
copy Carlos on your replies ...

Subject: Problems with climate control unit
In my Audi A4 1.9 TDi (Year 1995) especially in the summer, and when I make
big trips, with the compressor of the air conditioning ON for a long time,
its usual to happen that the display off the climate control starts shining
and then it does not responds to the commands of temperature set point and
it only gives warm air, even if the temperature set point is for low and the
compressor is ON.
In this situation I know that the compressor is refrigerating because I
touch in the tubes off the compressor and they are cold.
I resolve this problem going to the my dealer's car were they reprogram the
climate control. Notice that it's happened too much times.
I would like to know your opinion about this.
How can I resolve this?
Do you recommend the substitution of climate control unit?
If possible send me an email.
Thank you.
Carlos Marques from Portugal
