strut housings and the ABS sensor sleeve

Are Typ 44 strut housings interchangable?  IOW if I
have an ABS supporting housing from a 100 series and
I'm using all new or original 200 series parts, are
they compatible?  What does everyone do if they pull
out an ABS sensor?  The sleeves 443 927 817 I got a
quote for $18.64 ea.x4.  I REALLY don't feel like
spending money replacing these things.  It doesn't
look like anything is wrong with them.  No corrosion
or physical damage.  Can I just clean and regrease?
them?  There seems to be residue of some heavy white
grease.  White lithium? or something more like
Lubriplate?  Any guesses?
