What was meant is that he doesn't have one key for the ignition, one key for
the driver door, one key for the passenger door and one for the trunk. As
most Audi's of this vintage have been through numerous door handles, and
came with the Valet Key too. It's alot tougher to get a key made for the
ignition cylinder than for the door cylinders. And since they are still the
same, the ignition and door, he's still lucky that he has one key
that-works-on-all-the-locks-of-the-car. I should have added that for
clarity to the original message.
Audi uses a relatively easy to key 7 pin lock. Whoever the "locksmith" that
screwed up your truck was, stay away. Easiest (i.e. Cheapest) way to get it
done would be to remove the door handle and pop out the lock and take that
in to get a key made.
As for AAA, you can call any locksmith you want, but they will only
re-imburse based on the price they've negotiated with "authorized"
locksmiths.
