avant in for 10k service, wheel change, etc

well, i finally took the urq ronals off my avant and put the
stockers back on. mainly i did this because i finally hammered
the yoko avs-s4's past their service life, and need to free
up the rims to get some serious all-weather - or all around
snow - tires. most likely i will get nokians, though i have a
set of steel rims with studded nokian hakka 1's in the garage...
just a little too much to drive to tahoe on studs, from sf.

anyway, the car looks funny with the stock sport rims :) and
of course, the morning after i yank the all-weather shoes off
	my baby, it rains :)

i noted a bunch of rust on the hub, where the hub meets the
	wheel. is this normal?

also, i am going in for my 10k service tomorrow. besides
whatever the usual is, i also need an alignment (pulls to the
right) and a radio (won't hold the station). i will also
probably complain about my driver's seat squeaking.

there is one other problem with the car. i have xenon HID
lights, and have noticed this from the time i bought my car.
only now can i really pinpoint the behavior:

the lights flicker. just once. one flash that is literally
a fraction of a second, a small fraction. they just blink
off, probably a 10th of a second. this occurs only when i
come to a stop, and only once per running of the car.

what i have pinpointed now is the fact that this happens with
regularity, when i leave my house, cold start. it's so regular
that it always happens at the same intersection (dolores) which
is two blocks from my house - doesn't matter if i go one way and
take 15th to dolores, or the other and take 16th. i think there
is even a bit of a tiny, muted 'click' when this happens.
something in the motor switching on, and causing a momentary
	disturbance in current?

i am assuming that there is no way in hell that any audi service
(especially one as lame as royal motors) will be able to do anuthing
about this. the car has to be cold and it's not visible during the
daylight hours. if i can get info on what it is, though, i may
be able to tell them. hence, my telling of it to you, oh listers.
	heard of this before?

also, anything else i should request for my 10k service?
