Speaker Whine

  I think this has been addressed, but I'm not sure if this in specific
has.  In my 1990 V8, (bose system), the left rear speaker whines at a
high pitch when I first turn on the stereo, and goes away after about
3-5 minutes.  I'm assuming that since the speakers have amps in each
speaker, that maybe the amp is on it's way out.  I plan on upgrading the
stereo, and all the speakers and amps, but for the time being, it drives
my wife nuts.  Any ideas on this?  TIA for the help.
