When I was pulling the engine from the MB back in July 99 (_that_ long ago)
I thought that the mount was in good condition, removed the top nut no
problem but when I lifted the engine something fell onto the ground. After a
few seconds panic trying to work out what on earth I'd damaged I found the
mount centre stud lying there - the inside of the mount was just a load of
rubber dust.....
