V8 0-60 and weight (and a story)

Guys,

Boy, I hate the digest mode for replying to messages!

Anyway, I looked back at my own V8 spreadsheet, and my Gtech told
me I got 0-60 in my '91 V8 5-speed in exactly... 6.7 seconds! :-) Just
like it was supposed to. You can take it or leave it since the Gtech is
_somewhat_ questionable. Personally, I think its pretty close for
purposes of this sort of test.

Also, by time I had the chip and the dual K&N filters in there,
it was considerably quicker. I'd estimate at least a couple tenths on
that 0-60 run.

FYI, I weighed the V8 at a Canadian truck weigh station, and after
subtracting passengers, and luggage, I got 3874 pounds.

This was the same weigh station where I stopped years ago to
let my girlfriend use the restroom. I stopped right on the weigh scale
and although the place was closed, the scales were "on" and reading out
weights in kilograms. I made a mental note of the number on the screen
and quickly calculated the weight of my RX7. Then when Janice got back in
the car, I proudly announced "55 kg!" She is no mental slouch, so she
quickly realised I had figured out her weight by the weigh scales. After
admitting that I was clever, she asked how many pounds were in a kg to which
I replied, "about 5" :-) Despite that, we've been married now for almost
ten years.

Sincerely,
