Indeed. All post-84 European CGTs and UrQs got the tinted taillights, while
the 80/90 (called 4000 in the US) never had these from the factory.

Space is my main problem, but that's one idea I've been toying with for
years now. Not sure if it's tacky, I like it anyway. Get a front or rear
end off a car, preferably an Audi, and make it a centrepiece in your room.
It can be functional, but doesn't have to be.
Someday I'll move to a bigger home and realise this idea. I might even use
scrap TT parts for this.
