1987 Audi 4000CS Questions

Hello all,

    Veteran VW A1 GTI, recent 'possible' Audi owner. I was wondering if 
anyone knows any specs on the 1987 Audi 4000CS, like was the 4000S the base 
model, and the 4000CS was the next model up? Is the 4000CS a quattro, or was 
that an added option to the 4000CS? With some quick looking I noticed the 
seemed to have the Legendary VW/Audi1.8l under the hood, I didnt' get time to 
give it full look over. I noticed that the trunk had a 4000CS emblem. If 
anyone knows and could inform me alittle that would be greatly appreciated.
