cheaper trunk shock? - click in power mirror

3 day ago a buy a AUDI COUPE GT 1986. Love it . The mecanic is perfect.
after a new paint it will be like new.

 just like everyone i redone the wire for the power mirror. Now i hear a
clik in the mirror when i press up and down on the joystick but noting for
left right.the mirror dont move. is see the piece inside the mirror move up
and down.  is the motor dead? or i forgot something?

I need to replace the trunk shock but the problem is that it cost 139 $
canadian each. Can it use a volkswagen part or something less expensive.
