IMHO, I would use nothing other then a supercharger.  I'm not sure what's
available for Audi motors, but for my 1996 Golf, there were about 4 or 5
vendors out there that had a pretty good set-up for it.  The supercharger
benefits are no spool up, and usually, more horsepower.  They usually cost
between $2,500-4,000 for the complete kit, depending on hp increase, and
engine size and difficulty of install.  Again, like I said, I'm not too
familiar with the 5cyl, but here are some links you might want to check out.
