Why I Hate Sunroofs

THere is supposed to be an emergency allen wrench that is shaped like a
crank for circumstances just like yours (the roof, not the dog). Remove
the trim panel with the (non-functioning) sunroof switch and insert the
crank into the allen screw and crank the sucker closed. 

As for the non-closure. It could be - not enough lube, or bad guide
alignment. If motor works but nothing moves, check the current being
drawn.
