Hard starting ur-q continued

It may not be your situation, but mine did the same thing for about 6 months. 
VERY sporadic and impossible to reproduce in the garage.
Ended up it was a frayed connection inside the black connector on the 
distributor. It was an absolute bitch to locate.
If you remove the distributor, take the Hall sensor out with the connector 
(this is a difficult job). Once out, there is a small "trap" door that folds 
over the 3 wires that hold them in a nice separated fashion. Inside this 
small chamber, I found 1 wire broken almost in half. I had replaced every 
component of the ignition with known working units, including the 
distributor, and then started looking at the wiring. Since I couldn't 
reproduce the problem the wiring all checked out as well. It was divine 
providence that I ever found that break.
I was ready to sell the car as I knew a shop would merely start replacing 
things (expensive things, and charging me an arm and a leg) in a guessing 
procedure which I had already done.
It was a testing challenge, but the greater the test, the greater the 
satisfaction when conquered.
I might have some components you could use to eliminate sources.
