Lifetime coolant questions

This past weekend I was giving my 95 A6 the once-over
before state inspection and I noticed the coolant was
down to just below the LOW mark.  The owner's manual
sez its lifetime fill coolant.  What should I top
it off with?  Should it be changed now that its
5 years and 100,000 miles old?  My feeling is yes.
But with what?
