'New' Audi

Hi all,

Keep your fingers crossed for me, please... I have a lead on a really cheap
Audi as a temporary replacement for my 90q while it's off the road for some
badly-needed repairs.
How does $75 (yup, that's seventy-five bucks- or the Dutch equivalent) for
a circa-'87 B3 FWD 5-speed 80 sound? Just needs brakes and a service, and
maybe an engine mount and a muffler. 252k km and looking pretty good. Not
sure what engine, but it could be the 75 hp 1.6 carb, the 75 hp 1.8 carb or
the 88 hp 1.8S carb (Hoping for the latter, as it's a great engine. Guess
it's either a 1.8 or an S, as the 1.6 was 4-speed as standard). Titan grey
metallic, blue Crayon interior and dash.

Let's hope the owner agrees, so I can get the car soon... and can
reacquaint myself with unassisted steering and a manual choke. :-)

Regards, Tom
(really looking for a Polo, but another Audi will do fine, too)
