Good question, one for the VAG marketing "gurus." If you compare to
competing makers, there would be a market for it. Examples:
BMW has "big" 3-series coupe, and more sporting & smaller Z's.
M-B has "big" CLK coupe (& bigger), and more sporting & smaller SLK.
...and Chevy has the big Malibu and the small z24...
