Martin,
You just trashed two pieces of American Iron that I think are really
nice cars. :-)

Bad Boys had a 427 S/C Cobra, which is the equal of the 911 Turbo 3.6
that Will Smith had in terms of acceleration.

Nicholas Cage had a Shelby GT500 in Gone in 60 Seconds, which is
definitely enough car to keep a 540i away. Did you hear that enormous
lumpy rumble that the car made?

You can't discount musclecars in straight-line acceleration. Buick GNs
are now nearly 15 yrs. old and will still outdrag most cars out there,
even more so if you chipped a GN.

An XM cannot keep an S8 away, no matter what the road. They were going
on a mountain highway, then offroad, then down some very narrow streets.
The XM just doesn't make enough power to keep an S8 away.

As for the police, you can't outrun the radio. I'm sure the police do
have some high-powered pursuit cars when they need one- I've seen and
heard of BMWs, Ford Cosworths and some other cars used as pursuit cars
over there. The highway patrol near Tokyo has a few Skyline GT-Rs for
chase cars.

Taka

Well that was a narrow road, so that was understandable, I guess...hehehe.
What's funny is all the dinky police cars with the wussy sirene sound. How
can they catch the bad guys with cars like that? The answer is probably
"they can't". :)

Ever watched Bad Boys with Will Smith? The race before the end of the
movie? What kind of car was the bad guy driving? Will Smith's partner with
a 911 Turbo was having a hard time catching up. Yea right! Hahah.

Did you see Gone in 60 Seconds with Nic Cage? I don't know what that
Shelby thing he was driving (American Car), is it an old Mustang? But he
was keeping up good vs the cops' BMW 540i.

Martin
