more platforms

I was surprised at the post of Per Lindgren:

Ok, but the A2 as an aluminium car? I think I was told it is a
standalone platform.
(That's the only thing that would make sense to me. I have to do a bit
of research on the name.)
And the Passat shares components of A6 and A4. But I don't know which is
the basic platform for it, I think if only one, than "B".

Please further enlighten me
