The w-116 and w-126 are the designationsfor different platforms for the 
S-class mercedes'. W-116 (thru 79?) was the one that came with the 6.9L V8 
after that the S-class was redesigned W-126 which did not comewith the 6.9L 
engines, and came from 1980-1991. The w-126(1980-1991) had the max. 
displacement of 5.6L V8 no higher tha that. The v12's were introduced after 
1992 for the s-class mercedes'. I haven't watched the movie but I assume it 
was a w116.I know all this because I used to have(in Saudi Arabia) a 
mercedes 300E amg 1991 thats when I really did a lot of research on he 
merc's, dad bought it for me after high school as reward for doing good 
acedamically! Had to sellit before coming to the states in 1998 due to 
strict federal laws.Sigh!
