Audi vs. Subaru used cars

I come across this scenario a lot.
    A guy at work is looking to sell his honker SUV and get a car with AWD 
for this winter. He travels 30 miles to work and would appreciate better gas 
mileage with the saftey of AWD. Of course as we're talking about this, I ask 
what kind of car he's looking into? (with a grin on my face) .....He blurbs 
out a sube wagon. In literal shock I reply, why not an Audi Quattro (in 
general). He looks at me in dismay, "do you know how much those things cost!?"
    So then I go on and explain to him that I can find him a quattro for the 
same price he can find a sube and that he will love the quality of the Audi a 
hundred times better. By this time I can see the wheels turning in his head, 
but as of 4 weeks later he has yet to sell his SUV.....
    I've actually test drove a used impreza before and was surprised at how 
dull and totally unresponsive the car was (and this was before I had even set 
foot into an Audi). I do have to admit, the notion of the WRX finally coming 
over makes my mouth water, I will for sure sit in one of these at the Detroit 
Auto Show coming up.
