Excellent post, just one minor correction needed. The GT350 was rated at
350 HP, and was not the same engine (it was the same block) as the 271 hp
mustang. That was a standard production option, with solid lifters and a
hotter cam than the standard 289 mustang offering. Might have had a bigger
carb, but I'm old, and I disremember that particular detail.
I looked at, and drove one of those 271 HP rustangs before I bought my '65
Corvair Corsa Turbo. (8 months later, came to my senses and and traded it
for my '66 350/327 Corvette.)
Yer kindly ol' unka Bart...
Who is dead beat, and has a party to get ready of. Since 1000 hrs Tuesday,
I've gone from Pensacola, FL to Annapolis MD (P'cola, Montgomery,
Birmingham, Chatanooga, Knoxville (RON Tues), Winchester, Washington,
Annapolis(RON Wed), loaded all my remaining worldy possessions into the bus
and a dual axel trailer, been to the final court (master's) hearing for my
final divorce, in Glen Burnie, MD; then back, Washington, Richmond,
Columbia (RON Thur - actually, 0300-0700 Fri), Augusta, Atlanta,
Montgomery, and just got in at 1720 yesterday (Friday). Bathed and
crashed. A (@#$*&% wrong number) phone call woke me at 2330, and my buddy
George, who co-piloted on the trip, came boppin' at 0730 this morning...
So, amigos, yo soy wiped!
