Yeah, no problems with that on this car. I thought it was easy to get a
cheap Audi in the US? Or does that depend on the region?

Looking at the car after a five-hour washing, waxing, vacuuming and
wrenching session, it's way too good to scrap. The paint's in excellent
condition, no clearcoat peeling and a healthy shine. Just one dent in the
passenger front door (looks like someone let it go in a storm and it
crashed into a lamppost or somesuch) and a very small ding in the trunklid
that I'll probably push out when I try hard enough.

Some moron's painted the rear bumper gloss black in the past- have to
rectify that and make it look the same as the front bumper (i.e lower half
painted body colour, upper half unpainted). There's duct tape over a
taillight that's badly cracked. There's water in it, so I'll find a good
used example and change it soon. A couple of used hubcaps'll take care of
the wheels (steel) and I'll need a couple of new used tyres.

But the first thing I'm gonna do is change the front brakes. One pad fell
out while changing the wheels yesterday, and it was down to the metal.

Regards, Tom
