Endemic in the industry.  All lower-volume cars use parts from mass
production vehicles.  It's great fun going round a motor show with
someone who has one of these encyclopedic memories for car parts -
especially going round the concept cars.  I remember going round a
Lotus Europa with one such many years ago: "Oh, look - the door
handles are MGB boot locks.  And the rear bumper is the front bumper
off a Ford Anglia 105E!"

Affects even ur-quattros.  The rear brake calipers are from a Ford
Granada.  But mounted upside down, which is why the sh1t runs down
the handbrake actuating lever and siezes the brakes, instead of
just dripping off as it does when they're the right way up, like
they are on the Ford.
