1987.5 CGT distributor cap and rotor

Get the numbers off the distributor. The numbers are on the body of the distributor. A little steel wool and a "mark and wipe" with a bit of paint makes them "easily" readable. From past experience with the vacuum advance distributors, they are mixed and matched on many I5's.

If you find you do have a different distributor than what's supposed to be there (0237011110), it can be looked up in the Bosch book and matched to the correct replacement components. There is a footnote for this distributor in the Bosch book: "Obsolete. Available while stock lasts."

Okay, I've done the research and the part #'s Bosch specifies for the 1987.5 Coupe GT with
the NG motor are

Distributor cap: 03239
Distributor rotor: 04139

But these don't fit my car.

The cap I got in the mail (03239 from wrenchhead.com) is two-tiered, with a couple of the
spark wire holes raised up higher than the rest.

The rotor I got in the mail (04139 from wrenchhead.com) is thicker and shaped differently.

Am I crazy or what? Did a previous owner put an older distributor on the car? Please
advise.

Thanks,
