All Wheel Steer was Audi vs Subi

You are correct Carter! Forgot about those things. The BBS were 15 x
6's. And all US 16V's had 140 MPH (vs. 120) speedos and 6750 redlined
tachs, otherwise the IC are the same as even standard Golf/Jettas. The
gearboxes were close ratios, and, at least the 8V ones are famous
(starting even with the US Rabbit GTi's (A1) of '83-'84 ) or infamous for
having the pinion shaft breaking free and machining the final drive
casing of the gearbox. VW hasn't owned up to that one though. 16V
gearboxes had a slightly different final drive and proper circlips for
retaining said pinion shaft. AFAIK, the flares are the same for both 8V
and 16V models, however. And, 16V had higher rate front springs and are
lowered about 1/2 to 3/4 inch compared to the 8V models.
