JC Whitney A/F Ratio Meter

Hi,

I purchased one of the Air Fuel Ratio meters from JC a little while ago and finially got it hooked up.  I have some questions for anyone who has used one before.  The car is a 91 90 if it matters.  The readings on my meter don't seem to be very consistant.  At idle it will stay in the middle for a few seconds then drop down to maxximum lean for a few seconds, then go back up, is this normal?  Also when I hit the throttle it gets richer for a split second then drops to maxximum lean(this is not at WOT just part throttle).  I was just wondering if this was consistant with the norm, or if i have a problem somewhere.
