Forgot to mention my wheel search

Hmmmm, I guess what I've seen in the boneyard was aftermarket. Didn't recall if I saw the VW/Audi logos in the bolt circle area, as I wasn't all that interested at the time. They may still be there (though unlikely, that yard rotates stock and does scrap metal work) at Gary's U-Pull It, in the Binghamton, NY area (actually in Conklin).

No, Audi never used a 15" Ronal R8 in 4 bolt configuration on any US
models. Mine (on my 4K) are not Audi parts, but are direct from Ronal
via the aftermarket some years ago. The R8s appeared first on the
1980-83 Audi 5000S turbo and urQuattros of similar vintage in 15x6 5x112,
and then in 14x6 4x108 on 4Kq and CGT circa 1983-1987, and 4KS from
1985-87. Later urQs came with 15x8 5x112 as an option. Some type 44s
(5000CS non turbo) also came with the R8 in 14x6 4x108.
