Larry,
None of the fluids I mentioned are silicone based, they are all DOT 4
compliant.

I would be careful with the synthetic fluids, if they are silicone based.
They may not be compatible with the original seals in the MC or calipers,
and the fluids cannot be mixed. Requires a complete flushing with mineral
spirits before adding the silicone fluid. Of course, if the bottle of fluids
says that it's compatible with DOT 3/4 fluids, the cautions don't apply.

That's 500ml or 0.5L, approximately half a quart.

Any DOT 4 is okay, I prefer using the high-temp stuff
because I'm hard on my brakes. I'm currently using ATE
Super Blue, but Castrol SRF, Motul 550 or 600 or many of
the others are fine as well- Valvoline Synthetic, Castrol LMA,
etc.
