Blow off valve vs. By-pass valve (semantics aside)

I have heard of cars that dump the air from the dump valve into the
exhaust manifold and inject fuel. This turns the turbo into a JET as it
spins at high rpm. High boost is maintained on the front of the closed
throttle valve so when it is opened turbo lag is eliminated.
I dont know if anyone else has experienced this but sometimes when
starting the car the ignition timing gets confused, the car missfires but
I have noticed the boost pressure rise rapidly. This is due to unburnt
fuel entering and burning in the exhaust manifold ie exhaust valve open
and spark plug fireing.
