20V Head in an 88 90 Quattro?

Hi!

This conversation pops up almost every week and maybe
that`s a reason You won`t get a lot of responses, even the
question itself is interesting.

Actually, don`t go for it, You need whole ECU, all harnesses,
manifolds etc... for it. If You keep Your CIS, what can be done
for ignition? MPI is fully integrated. Practically You need in this
case whole engine with auxillaries. Because of the cr etc...

What You get: 170 Hp instead of 136 Hp. Sounds a great
upgrade, but:

 Difference between those 20v and 10v ( 7A and KV etc ) 
engines really  are at the top. I`ve owned both of those. We 20v
guys are all the time looking ways to upgrade the 7A. In normal
driving KV is as fast and with a cam chance You can get almost
7A power ( some 155Hp ). If You need power, not a nice looking 4v
engine room, swap an MC and get there real power and wash
up us -20v N/A guys :) 

Ok, 7A is a robust and beautiful engine and lasts till the end of the 
world, but it or its` head is not worth of a swap. Also its`ECU -I think,
don`t accept a tsillion Hp increase
