Well this weekend was an interesting one to say the least. Sat noticed i
was running low on pentosin and i thought there might be a leak at the pump.
I tightened the lines and refilled the reservior with the last of my
pentosin. Sunday drove it to work and back and on the way home, the brake
light comes on. Pull over and sure enough... serious leak on the top of the
pump. One of th orings and blown out. Well i was about 5 miles from home
so i got the car home. I had bought a rebuild kit for a pump a few months
ago but had ended up replacing the entire pump with another from a junker.
Replaced the O-rings and then since i was out of pentosin and it was sunday,
i went and bought some ordinary mineral oil and threw that in for a trial
run. As far as i can tell from reading the pentosin can, its comprised of
white mineral oil and some wax and some petroleum additives as well. So i
figure ill try this for a little while an d see if anything dies. If it
works... well then you all can save 15$ a qt for pentosin and go with
mineral oil at about 1.59 a 1/2 qt.

Fingers crossed

Rob
