Yes, all VW/Audi 4V/cyl and 5V/cyl engines are true DOHC. Two cams in inline
engines, and quad cam in V engines.
I4 16V and 20V
I5 20V
V6 30V
V8 32V and 40V
You are right that the VR6 12V is technically not DOHC despite the labeling.
There are two cams in the head, but that head is a single unit for both of
the Vee cylinder "banks", so each "bank" has only a single cam...
