water in trunk

Don't know about the 80/90 bodies, but in my 4K cars, there is a rubber
bumper in the rain trough around the inside of the fenders that gets old
and disappears, leaving the hole the bumper went into. Water can drip
through that hole into the sides of the trunk area. I've also had leaking
around the tail light assembly. Taping over the rubber bumper hole kept it
dry till I could find a replacement. Fixing the tail light leaking was
more difficult. I had to take out the entire assembly and pack some auto
body sealant (putty-like stuff that stays soft and gooey forever) around
the assembly. Hardest part was getting the original sealant material to
let go of the tail light assembly. It's very adhesive stuff.
