I don't think anyone is trying to "alienate" anyone.
I didn't know ANY of the jargon when I first joined,
and never asked, but I wouldn't think any less of
someone who DID ask. I just figured out that BiL was
brother in law about 2 weeks ago. Duh for me.

IME it is used when discussing one of the many parts
or components that are common throughout this range.

I don't think ANYONE knows all the answers, O.K.,
except Phil maybe. That's the idea, not to keep
