S2 Speedo is out

Subject says it all - the speedo is reading
incorrectly... it is not linear it is more at higher
speeds and less at lower speeds...

so sort of:

Speedo --> Actual
58km/h --> 50km/h
180km/h --> 160-162km/h

so what gives???

the computer on the dash reads correctly - when I
reset the average speed and then note the first figure
it comes up with....

How do i fix it? 

It's NOT a digital dash...

any suggestions would be well received... thanks

oh and I don't have the time, I nor the inclincation I
think, to rip out the dash and fix this myself....
would even consider just putting in an electronic
speedo readout if I could get one.... hopefully the
computer has a diagnostic mode that shows immediate
exact speed (see my other post) - but that's probably
wishful thinking eh...
