Custom Exhaust for 4KSQ

I live in a town where custom cars are more common then junkers. I
guess you could say its a little rich. My 87 4K S Quattro is a recent
addition to my VAG family. I have a custom exhaust setup that was made at
the shop that I went to. The High flow cat cost $120 Can, the back pipe
(Stainless 3") from the cat over the rear trans-axle cost $200 Can, the Y
joint cost $90 Can, the High flow stainless muffler cost $70 Can (it was
real small) and the Dual DTM tips cost $90 Can per tip, and I needed two.

This part gets a little confusing. The Y joint goes after the rear axle
and one OUT turns 90 degrees toward the left tire, the straight OUT has a
flange that I will pick up from a Carburator (I'll explain later) after the
Carb flange goes one DTM tip, and on the other OUT from the Y goes a really
short (only 14 inches) Muffler. I needed one so small because it has to fit
cross ways to the car as well as the Y joint. After the muffler goes one
mandrel bend and one Dual DTM tip.

The story with the Carburator is that only one out will have a
muffler, and the other will tentativley be a straight out with no
resistance, making the muffled side, well... Expensively unfunctionall.
Normally you would put a restrictor Flange on the straight out to restrict
the flow through that side. I've decided to use the butterfly valve from a
typical American Muscle car because it's the only one big enough, and that's
all Muscle cars are good for any way (Read the messages "UrQ Vr Mustang").
The Butterfly valve will be accessible to the cockpit of my low flying
Quattro.

The parts are in but my pocket is empty (How'd that happen?), so stay
tuned to find out how I've designed the cockpit connection to the adjustable
flange...
