Subject: Seat Heater Repairs - CAREFUL

I did the Seat heater repair found at
http://members.aol.com/c1j1miller/body.html#Seat%20Heater%20element%20fix ,
a link that I got here from the list, and found that when I was done, had
the whole thing put back together, that the repaired joint in the heater
element became a very HOT SPOT! Hot enough that you can smell the leather
beginning to burn, and it will burn your skin if you keep your hand on it. I
have pulled the relay for the left seat heater so that it doesn't
inadvertently get turned on. I realize that the problem is high resistance
at the joint, and I have to find another way of splicing the heater wires...

Has anyone else out there tried this and been completely satisfied with the
result?

Thanks,
Maurice
