I don't have the answer to your question but I remember someone (named Bob..
but can't remember his e-mail address) started the process of having a set
of a-pillar covers made up to fit the type 85 models. that was months ago
and my name was on that list... but not sure what happened to the project..
Anyone?? I'm still interested..

I was going to make up a box that would fit on the dash next to the
instrument cluster so the wires would pass through the little plastic "cap"
on the side of the cluster shroud and the pod would be velcroed or something
to the dash. I put all my drawings and stuff on my webpage at
http://marcswanson.ne.mediaone.net/4kpod.html . I tried to make one of thin
galvanized sheet metal but its really hard to weld such thin metal and
anything thicker would be hard to cut with tin snips so I'm entertaining the
idea of going to a machine shop and asking "how much" cause I'm lazy. If I
do go this route, anyone interested in a copy of it?
