When the "conversion" from leaded to unleaded occurred here in the US
(about 10yrs prior to UK) for 40cents you could buy a "key chain" which
had a plastic pipe nipple on it. One end of the nipple was the diameter
of the Leaded Nozzle, and the other end of the nipple was the diameter of
the Unleaded Filler Gooseneck. It also came with the "holding" device
that goes behind the lever (they cut the autofill on the handle as self
service was still a relatively new concept) to keep the gas flowing while
you wiped windows etc. Someone with access to an injection mold could
start producing and selling these things Quick in UK, might even make
enough to buy a factory transmission for a URQ. You don't even really
need a mold, just some extruded plastic pipe and a cheap device to mold
the nozzle side. I reserve 2% of all profits, by reading this you just
agreed to that. ;) Gotta do it quick though, I'm SURE the government is
going to lower fuel taxes and end this soon.
